Meet the Teacher
I'm Daire Halpin - an opera singer and mammy to two lively kids. I suffered a pelvic floor injury on the birth of my first child and since then, I've been on a mission to find out how to support this vital part of our anatomy.
I founded Sheela to give more women access to the knowledge and tools they need to live their lives free from the fear and uncertainty pelvic floor issues can bring. I recently retrained as a Pilates teacher and Physiotherapy Assistant so I can start sharing everything I've learned in a class setting.
Pelvic Floor Restore is exactly the kind of class I was desperate for after my injury.
YOUR PELVIC HEALTH MATTERS - here's why
Women with pelvic floor issues are 3 times more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression than other women. (source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6390859/)
Women with pelvic floor issues are more likely to stop exercising which - long term - can lead to poor health outcomes including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. (source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34939122/)
A functioning pelvic floor is your right
- let us help you claim it.
What students are saying:

Daire is a very empathetic teacher with great knowledge and communication skills. I found it so accessible and learned much more than I expected to.
Mary - Wexford

On a scale of one to ten, I would award a 10 to this programme every time.
Siobhán - Dublin

I will laugh and cough more confidently in the future as a result of doing this course. Thank you for that!
Geraldine - Galway
Pelvic Floor issues like incontinence and prolapse affect huge numbers of women but for many, they are preventable and treatable.
Over 50% of women will experience prolpase and up to 80% of women will experience urinary incontinence at some point in their lives (source: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).
Pelvic floor exercises can improve symptoms in 90% of cases but most women loose heart and find it nearly impossible to keep doing the exercises. This can lead to a cycle of shame and blaming yourself.
There is another way.
Pelvic Floor Restore classes are based on full body exercises that are proven to be more effective than Kegels alone at activating and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles.
We work on full range of movement - from totally relaxed to fully engaged - so we can address issues around pelvic floor tension as well as weakness. And we show you how to put it all together with a functioning core that is the key to doing any exercise you want without worrying about leaks or making things worse.
Let's get rid of the 'am I doing it right?' feeling once and for all.
Even if you've been experiencing leaks, prolapse or pain for a long time, Pelvic Floor Restore can help.
One of the most difficult things about having a pelvic floor issue is feeling like you have to hide your symptoms. It can feel like you're the only one experiencing this and that things will never improve.
Exercising in a safe space where people understand what you're going through can be the key to exercising regularly and re-building your strength and your self esteem.
